A predominate part of our AMOS summer program is the Home Repair Ministry. During a ten week period, teams travel to East Tennessee to serve families living in substandard conditions. Nearly 80% of the teams and churches that come to serve return year after year. The Home Repair Ministry serves Cocke, Grainger, Hamblen and Jefferson Counties. Our Home Repair program focuses on exterior needs of homes that are in need of handicap accessible ramps, decking, roofing, and painting. We partner with churches throughout the United States who provide labor and skills needed to complete projects. Selected projects are normally completed in June and July.

Teams interested in signing up for the Summer Program, please call the office at 865-475-5611 to get more information about dates and projects. We are currently restructuring our home repair program. The registration form has been updated in order to submit interest in the program. The details can be worked out as we get closer to Summer 2026. In order to volunteer with AMOS, each team member (or parent/guardian, if under 18) must complete a C-NU Liability Form.

Looking for a summer employment opportunity? Consider joining our team. Each year, we employ summer staff who work alongside the Home Repair Coordinator to assist in meeting the needs of families selected to receive the home repairs, provide assistance to volunteer teams gathering materials, and tools required to complete projects.
